STORYVERSE Launches AI-native Studio at Cannes, Bridging Hollywood Filmmaking and Scalable AI Production

The AI-native company unveils premium microdrama and TV slate, global platform partnerships, and a proprietary Director-level AI system designed to produce cinematic storytelling at unprecedented speed and scale.

LOS ANGELES, CA / CANNES, FRANCE (May 11, 2026) — STORYVERSE, the new AI-native entertainment studio operating under the banner “The New Hollywood Studio — Where AI Meets Hollywood Craft,” officially launches at the Cannes Market with a mission to transform how premium narrative content is developed and produced for the global era.

Founded by Emmy-nominated producer Jesse Z., STORYVERSE combines Hollywood filmmakers, AI engineers, and platform-ready production workflows to create cinematic short dramas, serialized IP, movies, and scalable entertainment franchises powered by proprietary AI technology. The AI-native company is building what it describes as the production layer for the AI entertainment era — enabling premium content to move from script to screen in as little as five days at a fraction of traditional production costs.

At Cannes, STORYVERSE is unveiling a growing slate of AI-native and hybrid productions currently in development and production, spanning fantasy, crime, sci-fi, and urban drama.

Among the company’s headline projects is Il Cinese, an Italian crime drama series based on Andrea Cotti’s bestselling novel, developed with award-winning Italian filmmaker Cristiano Bortone and produced in partnership with MYmovies, Italy’s leading platform for cinema audiences. AI voice technology for the series is powered by MiniMax, whose multilingual speech synthesis enabled crafting a diverse range of authentic Italian accents, positioning Il Cinese within a new generation of European drama productions integrating advanced AI technologies.

STORYVERSE is also developing Solis Ark Academy, the company’s flagship original fantasy franchise described as “Harry Potter meets MBTI,” created with award-winning animation director Lance F. Designed as a scalable cross-platform universe spanning drama, gaming, and merchandising, the project represents STORYVERSE’s long-term franchise ambitions.

Additional production titles include Agent Yum Yum, a sci-fi action microdrama developed with Celestine Pictures; Last War: Under The Hardhat, a zombie-action branded microdrama produced for a leading mobile game company; and Molly Bling Bling, an original urban IP that was a finalist at the San Francisco International Film Festival Westridge Fund and is being developed alongside When Pigs Fly Films and Grid Vision Inc.

STORYVERSE’s proprietary “Director-level AI System” encodes the professional filmmaking process — including screenwriting, storyboarding, cinematography, editing, and sound design — into a structured AI-assisted production pipeline designed to help creators preserve cinematic quality while dramatically accelerating production timelines.

The company was founded by a cross-disciplinary team of Hollywood creatives and AI technologists, including MIT postdoctoral researchers, former Meta machine learning leaders, ex-Google engineers, and AI PhDs from HKUST and UC Berkeley. STORYVERSE is currently collaborating with more than 20 enterprise partners and distribution platforms across North America, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

“STORYVERSE was created to bridge Hollywood storytelling craft with scalable AI-native production. We believe the future of entertainment will belong to creators who can combine authentic cinematic language with next-generation production tools. Our goal is not to replace filmmakers, but to empower a new generation of storytellers to create premium content faster, more globally, and more accessibly than ever before.”— Jesse Z., founder and CEO
